Our Mission

Our founders are self defense and combat instructors with a passion stemming from deep, youth wrestling roots. Meshing that foundation with the no-gi aspects of jiu jitsu we believe we offer a very unique style of grappling for all ages, skill levels and experience. Influenced by our wrestling pedigree, one of our greatest beliefs and causes are in offering year round wrestling programs to support the local wrestling community. Our instructors believe in leading by example and building strong leaders out of every student we have the privilege to train. Whether beginner or advanced, self defense or sport we are here to guide you along your journey of skill development, fitness and self discovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Jiu Jitsu safe?

Jiu Jitsu is an extremely safe sport and is a martial arts form with some of the fewest injuries. Because we do not train with strikes and our moves are focused more on grappling at ground level, there are far fewer impact injuries. Our coaches prioritize safety as a key focus in all of our classes.

Do I need to be in shape to try a class?

You don’t need to be an athlete to begin practicing Jiu Jitsu. Grappling is its own fitness, allow our coaches to help you unlock your potential. Just like any exercise program, it’s always best to check with your doctor to make sure it’s safe for you personally, before taking a class.

How do I prepare for my first class?

Everyone stepped on the mats for the first time some point, come to your first class with an open mind, ready to learn and you’ll do great! We recommend bringing a water bottle and suggest wearing a rash guard/spandex top and spandex/athletic shorts. See you on the mats!
